At Shasha Horizon, we believe that supporting community health initiatives is as important as the nutritious foods we produce. Our commitment to health extends beyond individual nutrition to community wellness and medical research that benefits everyone.

We’re honored to share this testimonial from the Manulife Walk for Memories, an important fundraising event supporting Alzheimer’s research and education.

Testimonial: Stephanie Karpman, Special Events Assistant

Dear Shasha,

Our most sincere THANK YOU for the outstanding donation you provided for the 2011 Manulife Walk for Memories. Your contribution helped make the event a smashing success.

The Walk was a great triumph and at last count over $592,000 has been raised—far more than our $500,000 goal. Money raised from this event will go to provide counseling, education and information to individuals and families living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and fund research to find the cure.

Enclosed is your thank you certificate. Please display it in a place of pride to show our heartfelt appreciation.

Thank you again for your contribution and we hope that we can count on you again next year.

Warmest regards,

Stephanie Karpman
Special Events Assistant

Shasha Horizon’s Commitment to Community Health

Supporting Research and Education That Matters

This donation to the Manulife Walk for Memories reflects Shasha Horizon’s core values: that true health encompasses not just individual nutrition, but community wellbeing and support for medical research that benefits all Canadians.

Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias represent one of the most pressing health challenges facing aging populations. Research into prevention, treatment, and care is essential—and so is education and support for families navigating these conditions.

Why We Support Community Health Initiatives

Health Beyond Individual Nutrition

At Shasha Horizon Farmhouse, we create nutritious foods that support individual health. But we also recognize that community health depends on supporting medical research, education, and care systems that benefit everyone.

Our approach to corporate social responsibility includes:

  • Supporting medical research initiatives
  • Funding community health education
  • Contributing to organizations addressing major health challenges
  • Advocating for public health policies that protect populations
  • Building partnerships with health-focused nonprofits

The Connection Between Nutrition and Neurological Health

While our donation supports Alzheimer’s research broadly, we also recognize the role that nutrition plays in brain health and cognitive function. The foods we produce—rich in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, B vitamins, and other neuroprotective compounds—support the kind of nutritional foundations that may help maintain cognitive health throughout life.

  • Scientific advances that could prevent or treat these devastating diseases
  • Community support systems that reduce isolation and suffering

Corporate Citizenship and Social Responsibility

Businesses Have a Role in Community Health

At Shasha Horizon, we believe that successful businesses have a responsibility to give back to the communities they serve. This isn’t just about tax deductions or public relations—it’s about genuine commitment to making the world healthier.
